Bus Loop and Kiss and Ride Safety Update

Meet the Teacher & Curriculum Night

Pine Grove Public School will host our annual Meet the Teacher & Curriculum Night on Wednesday October 3 from 6 to 8 pm. From 6 to 7 pm students and families will have the opportunity to enjoy pizza (all orders through School Cash Online -which will be available by Friday Sept. 28) and social interaction with staff and families in our community. Beginning at 7 pm teachers will conduct 20 minute presentations on curriculum programming and student expectations. There will be a 10 minute transition time and from 7:30-7:50, a repeat presentation. This allows parents with more than one child to visit two classrooms.

Every Student Counts Survey (ESCS)

In November 2018, York Region District School Board will invite all students to participate in the Every Student Counts Survey (ESCS). The purpose of this census survey is to better understand YRDSB’s diverse student population as well as students’ experiences in school and outside of school. Families with a child in Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be invited to complete the survey online with their child at home. Students in Grades 7-12 will be invited to complete the survey online during class time. If you are a parent/guardian of child(ren) in Grades 7-12 and do not want them to participate in the survey, please contact CCI Research at 1-866-450-4907 no later than October 9, 2018.
The surveys are voluntary and confidential. Information about the surveys and the process is available at www.yrdsb.ca/escs. This important initiative will help us work together to create equitable and inclusive school environments.

YRDSB Welcome

Welcome Back!

As we prepare for yet another school year, there are several items and routines for all of us to get back into now that September is here. Thinking about getting a great start for the school year, try these helpful tips:

Re-establish bed routines that are consistent with a good night's sleep by getting to bed earlier so that waking up for school is easier;Remember to pack your school backpack the night before with things you'll need such as a change of clothes for our youngest students or a hat, sunscreen and reusable water bottle;Pack a healthy nut-free lunch with fruits, vegetables and a favourite sandwich;Come ready to meet new and old friends and staff at PG and remember to give everyone a chance to fit in and be a part of our great PG environment! Parents please check  www.schoolbuscity.com for all your childs transportation needs. Become familiar with bus routes, pick up and drop off times and what to do if the bus is late or does not show up.
