The Me to We/Free the Children committee would like to say THANK YOU to our amazing Pine Grove community for all of your generous donations so far this year!

Holiday Gifts Fundraiser
Thank you Pine Grove families for supporting a great cause by buying holiday gifts to support communities in developing countries. We had a very successful fundraiser! In total we raised $2068!

115 people have access to CLEAN WATER
60 women will be given FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITIES to provide for their families
81 children have access to HEALTH CARE and VITAMINS
38 children will have access to EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
73 children have access to SCHOOL SUPPLIES
15 people will have access to HEALTHY FOOD and 25 farmers will be given SEEDS to grow crops

Food and Toy Drive

We also wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who made a contribution to our food and toy drive for the Vaughan Food Bank!!! This has been a very successful year. We collected 8 large bins and several boxes overflowing with food items and toys. Way to go Pine Grove!!

The Bake Sale
Finally, we wanted to say thanks to those who bought sweet treats from the bake sale in the beginning of the year. That money will be donated to The Hospital for Sick Children. We raised a total of $213!

Meet the Teacher & Curriculum Night

Pine Grove Public School will host our annual Meet the Teacher & Curriculum Night on Wednesday October 3 from 6 to 8 pm. From 6 to 7 pm students and families will have the opportunity to enjoy pizza (all orders through School Cash Online -which will be available by Friday Sept. 28) and social interaction with staff and families in our community. Beginning at 7 pm teachers will conduct 20 minute presentations on curriculum programming and student expectations. There will be a 10 minute transition time and from 7:30-7:50, a repeat presentation. This allows parents with more than one child to visit two classrooms.

The Secret Life of Riley K. Performance for Grades 4-8 - *NEW DATE - FEB 28TH*

Pine Grove is excited to invite our Junior and Intermediate students to Education Arts Canada's brand new performance, The Secret Life of Riley K, right in our very own gymnasium on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018. "12 year-old Riley K, is a clever, ambitious girl who strives for a perfect life.  But the prospect of giving a big speech leads to a perfect mess!  She is surprised to learn that her sick stomach was not the flu, but anxiety.  Riley discovers she isn’t alone with these challenges and that help is nearby."

"This beautifully-produced, curriculum-integrated show, stimulates real discussion and learning amongst students.  The Secret Life of Riley K was created by Juno award-winning musical writers, Judy and David Gershon, and by Canadian director and playwright, Ali Joy Richardson, along with guidance from a team of mental health specialists.  It was all made possible with the assistance of the Ontario Trillium Foundation."
